Pantone lets the sun shine in... in 2021!

THREE CHEERS FOR THE PANTONE COLOUR(S) OF THE YEAR 2021

PANTONE 17-5104 Ultimate Gray + PANTONE 13-0647 Illuminating

Yes folks, wherever you "are at" on this earthly orb, a little sunshiny yellow surely cannot hurt! Oh-so cleverly paired with a dependable gray to keep things grounded and solid, this pleasing partnership of opposites is not only good-looking... it's what the world needs now. That, and 'love sweet love' – of course!

For moi, this dynamic duo is a clear winner for so many reasons. Shameless plug, I recently created a brand in this colour scheme (you can have a boo here) this time two years ago. Which basically makes me a Pantone influencer... right?

ALSO, I believe I have been quoted as saying "that I've never met a gray I didn't like", which hasn't changed, but the times, they are indeed screaming for some off-the-charts colour.

AND HAPPINESS

AND JOY...

AND YELLOW!

AND my-oh-my does Pantone Illuminating deliver!

Here is my little ode to joy – a curated collection of images (thanks to the talented work of photographers from Unsplash, Adobe Stock and Envato Elements) to fill your soul with sunshine, curl your lips in an upward direction, spark ALL the creativity and demonstrate the incredible power of colour.

Whatever your colour jam, I hope you still enjoyed this design study in sunshine!

The power of colour and images to affect mood (and influence buying decisions!) is undeniable.

If you fancy dabbling with these on-trend hues, here is the colour code 4-1-1:
